Seminar: Keys To Protect Water Through Collective Learning - A Case in Jalisco Mexico

In the third TRIP seminar, which took place on 21 February 2023, (in hybrid format), visiting Prof. Jessica de la Torre, an Associate Professor from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) in the municipality of Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico, shared her experiences, and insights from using C.H.A.T. research methods to work with community members in Jalisco, to protect their water source. Prof. de la Torre explained how she worked with the community members, using the C.H.A.T. Change Laboratory, and theory of collective learning to identify the threats to water safety, develop strategies and shared actions to enable the community to organize themselves into a resistance movement, that took action to successfully hold the municipalities and other community stakeholders accountable for cleaning the water.
