Overcoming PgTSD*

In this, the first Artological Explorers’ seminar of 2026, recent graduates shared their strategies for successful postgraduate study. Playfully titled “Overcoming Postgraduate Thesis Stress Disorder,” the seminar attracted 29 online participants from Universities across sub-Sahara Africa. Tasked with telling new PG students what they found out about PG study while doing their higher degrees, and wished they knew at the start, speakers Dr Lois Anguria (RU), Ms Sumayya Menezes (TUT), Mr Lonwabo Mzamo (UJ) and Mr Luyanda Zindlela (UJ) spilled the tea about their PG successes and failures. Participants enjoyed the candid, sometimes humorous, collegial and generous advice. This is one of the ways that the TRIP project is transforming research.
